Creamy Baked Mac and Cheese with Ground Beef

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or similar-sized casserole dish and set aside.
  2. Cook the beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon, until fully browned—about 6–8 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Drain excess fat and remove from heat.
  3. Make the cheese mixture: In a large bowl, whisk together the milk and the can of cream of cheese (or cheddar) soup until smooth. Stir in 1½ cups of the shredded cheddar cheese and mix until evenly combined.
  4. Combine all ingredients: Add the cooked pasta and browned beef to the cheese mixture. Stir everything together gently until the beef and macaroni are evenly coated in the creamy sauce.
  5. Transfer to baking dish: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread into an even layer. Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  6. Bake: Place the dish in the oven and bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, or until bubbly and the cheese on top is melted and lightly golden.
  7. Serve: Remove from oven and let cool for 5–10 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley or an extra sprinkle of cheese if desired. Serve hot as a main dish or filling side.
