: Creamy Ground Beef Alfredo Pasta Recipe

Ingredients

  • For the Pasta and Beef:
    • 12 oz (340 g) pasta of choice (fettuccine, penne, or rotini work great)
    • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80/20 blend recommended for flavor)
    • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter (for cooking the beef)
  • For the Alfredo Sauce:
    • 2 cups heavy cream (for a rich and creamy sauce)
    • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for that sharp, savory flavor)
    • 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for a melty, gooey texture)
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced (for added flavor)
    • 1 tbsp butter (for richness in the sauce)
    • Salt and black pepper to taste (for seasoning)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: Begin by boiling water in a large pot with a pinch of salt. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water for later.
  2. Cook the ground beef: In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil or butter over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until fully browned and cooked through, about 7-8 minutes. Once cooked, drain any excess fat and set the beef aside. You can season it with a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Make the Alfredo sauce: In the same skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly to combine. Bring the cream to a simmer, then reduce the heat and let it cook for 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly. Add the Parmesan and mozzarella cheese to the cream, stirring until the cheeses are fully melted and the sauce is smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  4. Combine pasta and beef: Add the cooked pasta and ground beef to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce, tossing to combine everything evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add a little bit of the reserved pasta water to thin it out and make the sauce creamier.
  5. Serve: Serve the Creamy Ground Beef Alfredo Pasta hot, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese and freshly ground black pepper if desired. You can also top it with fresh parsley for a pop of color.
