Easy 3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 325°F (165°C). This temperature ensures that the cookies bake evenly and achieve a nice, soft texture with a slightly crispy edge.
  2. Mix the Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the 1 cup of peanut butter, ½ cup of sugar (brown sugar adds a deeper flavor), and the egg. Use a spoon or your hands to mix the ingredients together until the dough is smooth and well-combined. The dough will be thick, but that’s exactly what you want for a chewy, soft cookie.
  3. Shape the Cookies: Once the dough is mixed, use your hands to form small balls, about 1 to 1½ inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat, leaving about 2 inches of space between each ball. Gently flatten each ball with the back of a fork, creating a criss-cross pattern on top. This classic fork pattern is not only decorative but also helps the cookies bake evenly.
  4. Bake the Cookies: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the cookies for 8 to 10 minutes. The cookies should look slightly golden around the edges when they’re done. Keep an eye on them, as they can overbake quickly due to the lack of flour in the dough.
  5. Let Them Cool: Once the cookies are finished baking, remove them from the oven and let them rest on the baking sheet for a few minutes. This allows them to firm up before transferring them to a cooling rack. After they’ve set, gently move the cookies to a wire cooling rack to cool completely.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Once cooled, these peanut butter cookies are ready to be enjoyed! They’re perfect on their own or with a glass of milk. With just three ingredients, they’re a simple and satisfying treat for any occasion.
