Ingredients

Instructions
- Beat the butter and sugar until creamy and smooth.
- Add the egg and vanilla, beating just until combined.
- Mix in the flour, baking powder, and salt to form a smooth, pliable dough.
- Roll dough into small balls and flatten each slightly with your palm or the bottom of a glass.
- Arrange on a baking tray and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges turn golden and crisp.
3. Jam-Filled Thumbprint Cookies
Ingredients
- ½ cup (113g) butter
- ⅓ cup (70g) sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1¼ cups (155g) flour
- A pinch of salt
- Strawberry or raspberry jam
Instructions
- Cream the butter and sugar together until fluffy.
- Mix in the egg yolk and vanilla until smooth.
- Stir in the flour and salt to form a soft dough.
- Roll into balls and press a shallow indent into the center of each using your thumb or the back of a spoon.
- Fill each indent with a small amount of jam.
- Bake at 170°C (340°F) for 12–14 minutes, or until lightly golden on the bottoms. Let cool before serving.
