: Easy Saltine Toffee with Chocolate and Pecans

👩‍🍳 Directions

1️⃣ Prep the Base

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or foil. Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer to cover the pan fully.

2️⃣ Make the Toffee

  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and stir in the brown sugar.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil and let it boil for 3 full minutes, stirring occasionally. The mixture should be bubbly and slightly thickened.
  • Immediately pour the hot toffee over the saltines. Use a spatula to spread it evenly over the entire surface before it sets.

3️⃣ Bake & Melt the Chocolate

  • Bake the toffee-covered crackers for 5 to 6 minutes until bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the top.
  • Let the chocolate sit for about 5 minutes to melt from the residual heat.
  • Use an offset spatula or back of a spoon to spread the melted chocolate evenly across the toffee.
