Directions

  1. In a large pitcher or punch bowl, combine the cranberry cocktail juice, pineapple juice, and orange juice. Pour each juice slowly to help the flavours blend evenly, and use a vessel with enough capacity to allow stirring without spilling. The mixture should appear bright and well-combined, with the colour shifting to a warm, festive red tone from the cranberry juice.
  2. Stir in the ginger ale just before serving to keep the fizz. Add it gently down the side of the pitcher or bowl to preserve as many bubbles as possible, since the effervescence gives the punch a lively, refreshing quality. Mixing it at the last moment prevents the drink from going flat too quickly when served.
  3. Garnish with fresh orange slices and cranberries for a festive touch. Float the slices on top and scatter the cranberries around them; they will add a colourful, decorative contrast and lightly infuse the punch with additional citrus aroma as they sit.
