Garlic Butter Crab Legs with Herbs and Spice

  1. In a large stockpot, pour in 4 cups of water. Squeeze in the juice from the lemon wedges and then drop the wedges into the water for extra flavor.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning to the pot. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil over high heat.
  3. Once boiling, carefully add the crab legs. If they’re frozen, no need to thaw—just add a few extra minutes to the cook time.
  4. Cover and boil for 5–6 minutes, until the shells are heated through and fragrant. You’ll notice a brightening in color and a seafood aroma.
  5. Remove the crab legs from the pot and set aside on a platter while you prepare the sauce.

2️⃣ Make the Garlic Butter Sauce

  1. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once fully melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant but not browned—watch carefully to avoid burning.
  2. Stir in the lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, paprika, and red pepper flakes (if using) to give the sauce a savory, zesty flavor with a hint of heat.
  3. Let the mixture simmer gently for 2–3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the garlic to soften fully.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley for a burst of color and freshness.
