Step 1: Brown the Beef
- Heat the olive oil in a large pot or deep skillet over medium heat.
- Add the ground beef and diced onion, cooking until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. This usually takes about 5–7 minutes.
- Drain off any excess fat to keep your pasta creamy but not greasy.
Step 2: Build the Base
- Stir in the beef broth, milk, ranch seasoning packet, and uncooked pasta. Mix well to distribute the seasonings evenly.
- Increase the heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to a low simmer. Cover the pot and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Cook until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed, creating a creamy base.
