Hibachi Steak & Shrimp Plate with Fried Rice & Veggies

  1. Prepare the Steak and Shrimp: In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, olive oil, sesame oil, and minced garlic. Season the shrimp with a pinch of salt and black pepper, and marinate them in the soy sauce mixture for 10-15 minutes. Season the steaks generously with salt and black pepper on both sides. Set both the steak and shrimp aside while you cook the rice and vegetables.
  2. Cook the Fried Rice: In a large skillet or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened. Add the frozen peas and carrots (or your preferred veggies) and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are heated through. Push the vegetables to one side of the pan and add 1 tablespoon of butter. Scramble the eggs in the pan, then mix them into the vegetables. Add the day-old rice and soy sauce, stirring to combine. Cook for 5-7 minutes, allowing the rice to get a bit crispy at the bottom. Set aside when done.
  3. Sauté the Vegetables: In a separate pan, heat 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the sliced zucchini and bell peppers, sautéing for 5-7 minutes until they are tender and slightly caramelized. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Cook the Steak and Shrimp: Heat a cast-iron skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add the butter and cook the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Remove from the pan and let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing it against the grain. In the same pan, add the marinated shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are pink and opaque. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the shrimp for added flavor. Remove from heat.
  5. Make the Dipping Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sriracha, soy sauce, and lemon juice until smooth. Adjust the amount of sriracha to your desired level of heat.
  6. Assemble the Plate: Serve the sliced hibachi steak and grilled shrimp alongside the fried rice and sautéed vegetables. Drizzle the dipping sauce over the shrimp or serve it on the side for dipping. Garnish with fresh parsley or green onions for a pop of color and flavor.
  7. Serve: Enjoy this restaurant-style hibachi meal at home! Serve hot and savor the rich flavors of tender steak, juicy shrimp, and perfectly seasoned fried rice and veggies.
