- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
- Lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
2️⃣ Arrange the Pecans:
- Create clusters of 4 pecan halves each, with the pointed ends outward like a turtle’s “legs.”
- Space them out evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
3️⃣ Melt the Caramels:
- Unwrap the caramels and place them in a microwave-safe bowl.
- If the caramels are very firm, add 1 tablespoon of water to soften.
- Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth.
- Let the caramel cool for 1–2 minutes so it thickens slightly but is still pourable.
4️⃣ Add the Caramel:
- Use a spoon or small candy scoop to drop a dollop of warm caramel over each pecan cluster, covering the center where they meet.
- Don’t worry about making them perfect — turtles are naturally rustic in shape.
5️⃣ Melt the Chocolate:
- Melt chocolate chips in the microwave (30-second bursts, stirring each time) or over a double boiler until smooth and glossy.
6️⃣ Add the Chocolate Topping:
- Spoon melted chocolate over each caramel-topped cluster.
- Let the chocolate gently drip down the sides, using a spoon to nudge it if needed to cover the caramel completely.
7️⃣ Chill to Set:
