Instructions
- Cook the beef and onions:
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and diced onion. Cook, stirring frequently and breaking the meat into small crumbles, for 7–10 minutes or until the beef is fully browned and the onions are softened. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Drain off excess grease if necessary. - Prepare the bacon:
While the beef cooks, fry or bake the bacon until crispy. Once cooled slightly, chop or crumble the bacon into bite-sized pieces. The crispiness will add texture and savory richness to the burrito filling. - Warm the tortillas:
Lightly warm the flour tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for 10–15 seconds per side or microwave them wrapped in a damp paper towel for 30 seconds. This makes them more pliable for rolling and prevents tearing during assembly. - Assemble the burritos:
Lay one warm tortilla flat on a clean surface. Add a generous scoop of the seasoned beef and onion mixture, a handful of chopped bacon, and a sprinkling of shredded cheddar cheese. Add optional toppings such as sliced pickles, diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, or a swirl of ketchup or mustard for a classic cheeseburger touch. Drizzle or spoon over some creamy cheese sauce before rolling. - Roll the burritos:
