Kota โ€“ South African Street Food Classic (Bunny Chow Remix) ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿฅช๐ŸŸ

Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Bread

  1. Take a quarter loaf of soft white bread and slice off the top crust (set aside).
  2. Use your fingers to hollow out the center gently, creating a bread bowl without tearing the edges.

Step 2: Cook Fillings

  1. Fry polony, sausage, or egg to your liking. Prepare fries or use pre-cooked chips to save time.
  2. Warm up chakalaka or atchar if using.

Step 3: Assemble Your Kota

  1. Layer the base with fries, followed by your choice of meat (polony, sausage, etc.).
  2. Add the fried egg, slices of cheese, sauces, and any extras like chakalaka or atchar.
  3. Drizzle with mayo and tomato sauce or peri-peri for that signature saucy finish.
  4. Place the bread top back on, press down gently, and serve immediately while warm.
