Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup cooked macaroni (from 1 cup uncooked pasta)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter (for brushing)
- 1 package refrigerated pizza dough or biscuit dough
Instructions
- Start by cooking the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season with 1 teaspoon of salt and ½ teaspoon of black pepper. Break the beef apart with a spoon and cook until fully browned, about 7-8 minutes. Once cooked, drain any excess fat from the skillet and set the beef aside to cool slightly.
- In the same skillet, add a little more oil if necessary and sauté the cooked macaroni with a small splash of water for 2-3 minutes to heat through. Stir in 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese, mixing until the cheese is melted and the macaroni is fully coated in a creamy sauce. Once the cheese is melted, remove from heat and stir in the crumbled bacon. The bacon will add a smoky, crispy texture to the creamy mac and cheese filling.
- While the mac and cheese mixture is cooling slightly, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or greasing it lightly with non-stick spray.
- Now, it’s time to assemble the Mac & Cheese Bacon Burger Rolls. Unroll the refrigerated pizza or biscuit dough and cut it into individual squares or rectangles. If you’re using pizza dough, roll it out slightly to fit the desired size of your rolls. Spoon a generous portion of the mac and cheese filling onto each piece of dough, making sure not to overfill. You want the filling to stay inside while baking.
