👩‍🍳 Preparation Steps

1️⃣ Prepare the Oven and Pan

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×5-inch (23×13 cm) loaf pan and lightly flour it or line with parchment paper for easy release.

2️⃣ Make the Cake Batter:

  1. Cream butter and sugar together in a large bowl using an electric mixer until light and fluffy—about 2–3 minutes.
  2. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
  3. Fold in sour cream and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt over the wet mixture and stir just until the batter is smooth and combined. Do not overmix.

3️⃣ Create the Marble Effect:

  1. Divide the batter in half evenly into two bowls.
  2. Mix the melted chocolate into one half and sifted cocoa powder into the other, stirring each until blended.
  3. Spoon alternating dollops of each batter into the prepared pan to create layers of flavor and color.
  4. Use a butter knife or skewer to gently swirl the batters together in a figure-8 motion—just a few swirls for a true marbled look.
