1️⃣ Prepare the Oven and Pan
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×5-inch (23×13 cm) loaf pan and lightly flour it or line with parchment paper for easy release.
2️⃣ Make the Cake Batter:
- Cream butter and sugar together in a large bowl using an electric mixer until light and fluffy—about 2–3 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
- Fold in sour cream and vanilla extract until combined.
- Sift flour, baking powder, and salt over the wet mixture and stir just until the batter is smooth and combined. Do not overmix.
3️⃣ Create the Marble Effect:
- Divide the batter in half evenly into two bowls.
- Mix the melted chocolate into one half and sifted cocoa powder into the other, stirring each until blended.
- Spoon alternating dollops of each batter into the prepared pan to create layers of flavor and color.
- Use a butter knife or skewer to gently swirl the batters together in a figure-8 motion—just a few swirls for a true marbled look.
