👩🍳 Instructions
1. Make the Cake Batter
- Cream the butter and sugar: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy—about 2–3 minutes. The mixture should appear pale and airy.
- Add eggs: Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Scrape down the sides of the bowl to keep the batter smooth and uniform.
- Add vanilla: Mix in the vanilla extract just until incorporated.
2. Prepare the Dry Ingredients
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- With the mixer on low, add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture in two parts, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the flour mixture.
- Mix until just combined—do not overmix, as this can make the cake dense.
3. Create the Marble Batter
- Scoop out about 1 cup of the vanilla batter into a small bowl.
- In a separate cup, stir the cocoa powder and hot water into a smooth paste.
- Stir the cocoa paste into the reserved vanilla batter to make your chocolate batter.
4. Assemble the Marble Cake
