Instructions
- Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking.
- Season the Pork Chops
- Season the 4 pork chops generously with minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Be sure to coat the chops evenly with the seasoning mixture.
- Brown the Pork Chops
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the seasoned pork chops to the skillet.
- Cook the pork chops for about 4 minutes per side until they are nicely browned. This will help lock in the flavors and give the chops a good sear. Once browned, remove the pork chops from the skillet and set them aside.
- Prepare the Potatoes
- In a baking dish, arrange 4 cups of thinly sliced potatoes in an even layer. The thin slices will cook through nicely, creating a tender base for the pork chops.
- Make the Cheesy Cream Sauce
- In a small bowl, mix 1 cup of heavy cream with 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until the cheese is mostly melted into the cream.
- Pour the cheesy cream mixture evenly over the sliced potatoes, ensuring all the potatoes are covered. The cream will create a rich, flavorful base as the dish bakes.
- Assemble and Bake
- Place the browned pork chops on top of the potatoes, making sure they sit nicely in the baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Serve and Enjoy
- Once the dish is baked and the pork chops are fully cooked, remove it from the oven. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve the Parmesan garlic pork chops on top of the cheesy potatoes and enjoy this comforting, flavorful meal!
