3️⃣ Peanut Butter Swirls
- Lightly heat the peanut butter (10–15 seconds in the microwave is sufficient).This softens it just enough for smooth drizzling without thinning it too much.
- Drizzle thin ribbons over the dessert.Let the peanut butter fall naturally across the surface for best swirl distribution.
- Gently swirl with a toothpick or knife to create « earthquake » swirls.Move in loose, curved motions. Avoid overmixing—distinct swirls give the best appearance and pockets of flavor.
4️⃣ Add Chocolate
- Sprinkle chocolate chunks and peanut butter chocolates on top.The heat of the oven will partially melt them, adding bursts of chocolate in every bite.
5️⃣ Baking
- Bake at 350°F (170°C) for 35–45 minutes.The top will develop natural cracks and bubbling spots—this is the signature earthquake look.
- The center may remain slightly soft—this is characteristic of Earthquake Cake.The middle should jiggle lightly but not be fully liquid.
