Pineapple Habanero Hot Sauce

1. Prepare the Ingredients:

  1. Roughly chop the fresh pineapple and onion. Stem the habanero peppers (use gloves if needed), and mince the garlic.

2. Cook the Base:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the diced pineapple, chopped onion, habanero peppers, minced garlic, and water.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer and cook uncovered for 8โ€“10 minutes, or until the fruits and vegetables are soft and fragrant.

3. Blend the Sauce:

  1. Carefully transfer the hot mixture to a high-speed blender. Add white vinegar, lime juice, salt, and honey or sugar if using.
  2. Blend on high until completely smooth and creamy. Let steam vent slightly while blending if the mixture is hot.
