1. Prepare the Ingredients:
- Roughly chop the fresh pineapple and onion. Stem the habanero peppers (use gloves if needed), and mince the garlic.
2. Cook the Base:
- In a medium saucepan, combine the diced pineapple, chopped onion, habanero peppers, minced garlic, and water.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer and cook uncovered for 8โ10 minutes, or until the fruits and vegetables are soft and fragrant.
3. Blend the Sauce:
- Carefully transfer the hot mixture to a high-speed blender. Add white vinegar, lime juice, salt, and honey or sugar if using.
- Blend on high until completely smooth and creamy. Let steam vent slightly while blending if the mixture is hot.
