Pizza Lasagna Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (or use a mix of beef and Italian sausage for extra flavor)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) pizza sauce (or marinara sauce for a more traditional taste)
  • 1 package (12 oz) lasagna noodles, cooked according to package directions
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni (or other pizza toppings like mushrooms, bell peppers, or olives)
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning (or use fresh basil and oregano if available)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). This will ensure it’s hot and ready for the lasagna once it’s assembled.
  2. In a large skillet, heat a small amount of oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes, or until it becomes soft and translucent. Add the minced garlic and continue cooking for another minute, stirring frequently, until the garlic becomes fragrant.
  3. Add the ground beef (or a mix of ground beef and Italian sausage) to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat from the skillet to prevent the lasagna from becoming greasy. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning to taste.
  4. Stir in the pizza sauce (or marinara sauce if you prefer a more traditional lasagna flavor) into the cooked meat mixture. Let it simmer on low heat for 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to combine and the sauce to thicken slightly. Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning with additional salt, pepper, or Italian seasoning if needed.
