Pizza Monkey Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 cans refrigerated biscuit dough (16.3 oz each) or homemade pizza dough
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup mini pepperoni or chopped pepperoni slices
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9-inch bundt pan or a round cake pan. This will ensure that the monkey bread bakes evenly and doesn’t stick to the pan. You can also use a non-stick spray to coat the pan.
  2. If you’re using refrigerated biscuit dough, cut each biscuit into quarters. For homemade pizza dough, roll it out and cut it into small bite-sized pieces (about 1-inch cubes). These smaller pieces will make it easy to pull apart the bread once baked. Set the dough pieces aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella cheese and mini pepperoni (or chopped pepperoni slices). You can adjust the amount of pepperoni to your liking or add other toppings, such as chopped bell peppers or olives, for variation.
  4. In a separate small bowl, combine the olive oil or melted butter with the garlic powder and dried oregano. Stir to combine and evenly coat the dough with the seasoning mixture. This will help infuse the dough with garlic and herb flavors while baking.
  5. Dip each piece of dough into the olive oil mixture, ensuring each piece is coated. Then, layer the coated dough pieces with the cheese and pepperoni mixture, filling the bundt pan as you go. Continue layering the dough, cheese, and pepperoni until all of the ingredients are used up. The layers should fit snugly but not be packed too tightly.
