Red Velvet Brownies

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Batter:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth and glossy.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the red food coloring and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips, if using.

2️⃣ Bake:

  1. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  2. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Do not overbake — you want them fudgy!
  3. Let cool completely in the pan before slicing or adding the topping.
