Sausage Hashbrown Bites with Cheddar Cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Lightly grease a mini muffin tin or line it with silicone liners for easy removal. This ensures the bites release cleanly and crisp around the edges.
  2. Cook the sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until fully browned and no longer pink. Break it into small crumbles as it cooks for even distribution in the bites. Once done, drain excess fat and set aside to cool slightly.
  3. Combine ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed hashbrowns, cooked sausage, and shredded cheddar cheese. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is evenly combined. If the mixture feels dry, a tablespoon of olive oil or an extra pinch of cheese can help bind it slightly.
  4. Fill the muffin tin: Spoon the mixture into the mini muffin tin, pressing down gently to pack each cup. Fill each cavity to the top to help the bites hold their shape while baking.
  5. Bake: Place the filled muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the edges are crispy. Allow the bites to cool for 5 minutes in the tin before removing them gently with a spoon or offset spatula.
