Steak with Haunted Bourbon Garlic Cream Sauce

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Steaks

  1. Pat steaks dry with paper towels to ensure a perfect sear.
  2. Season generously on both sides with salt and black pepper.

2️⃣ Cook the Steaks

  1. Heat a heavy skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat until hot.
  2. Add a small amount of butter or oil if needed.
  3. Sear the steaks for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare, adjusting based on thickness and desired doneness.
  4. Transfer steaks to a plate, cover loosely with foil, and let rest while you make the sauce.

3️⃣ Make the Haunted Bourbon Garlic Cream Sauce

  1. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant and lightly golden (do not let it burn).
  3. Carefully pour in the bourbon. Stir and scrape the bottom of the pan to release any browned bits for extra flavor.
  4. Simmer for 2–3 minutes to reduce slightly and cook off the alcohol.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream, whisking to combine. Let it simmer gently for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens to a velvety consistency.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper if needed.

4️⃣ Combine & Serve

  1. Return the steaks to the skillet, spooning the creamy bourbon sauce over the top to coat them.
  2. Garnish with fresh rosemary or chopped parsley for a touch of freshness.
  3. Serve immediately with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a glass of your favorite bourbon. 🥃
