🍰 Instructions

1️⃣ Make the Cake Base

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Lightly grease a 23×33 cm (9×13 inch) baking pan.
  2. Prepare the strawberry cake mix according to the package instructions: combine the mix with eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Mix until smooth and well blended.
  3. Pour half of the cake batter evenly into the prepared baking pan and smooth out with a spatula.

2️⃣ Add the Strawberries

  1. Sprinkle half of the chopped strawberries evenly over the layer of cake batter.

3️⃣ Prepare the Cream Cheese Layer

  1. In a separate mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, melted butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
  2. Using a hand mixer or whisk, beat until the mixture is smooth, creamy, and thick.
  3. Spoon the cream cheese mixture in dollops across the cake layer—do not spread it out. The cake will “crack” and create swirls during baking, forming the signature earthquake look.
