Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Sweet Potato Base
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×9-inch or 8×11-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon (if using), and salt.
- Mix until smooth and well blended. You can use a hand mixer or mash and mix by hand.
- Spread the sweet potato mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
Step 2: Make the Pecan Streusel
- In a medium bowl, combine chopped pecans, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon (if using), and melted butter.
- Stir until crumbly and all ingredients are moistened.
