Truffle Mashed Potatoes with Crispy Garlic Chips – Creamy, Luxurious & Full of Flavor

  • 4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced 🧄
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil 🫒
  • Pinch of salt 🧂

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Potatoes:

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into even chunks for uniform cooking.
  2. Place the chunks in a large pot and cover with cold, salted water.
  3. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook for 15–20 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender.
  4. Drain well and let sit uncovered for a few minutes to allow excess moisture to evaporate.

2️⃣ Make the Garlic Chips:

  1. While the potatoes are boiling, heat olive oil in a small skillet over low heat.
  2. Add the thinly sliced garlic and cook slowly, stirring occasionally, until golden and crisp — about 3–5 minutes.
  3. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the garlic chips to a paper towel-lined plate. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt.

3️⃣ Mash and Flavor the Potatoes:

  1. Use a potato masher or ricer to mash the drained potatoes until smooth and lump-free.
  2. Stir in the butter until fully melted and incorporated.
  3. Gradually mix in the warm heavy cream for a smooth, creamy consistency.
  4. Fold in the truffle oil, grated Parmesan, and season generously with salt and black pepper to taste.
